Off to Georgia

Ok, this might be the last update for a few days. I fly out to Georgia tomorrow to link up w/ the rest of the MissingSaddle crew: Curtis Z and Skiles Keith. Hopefully we’ve learned our lesson from Tour of Cali and don’t overdue the drinking bit again.
Until then, laaates

Excedrin: migraine relief plus caffeine!

For dinner last night I thought I’d cook the leftover pasta, and, inspired by my recent Food Network viewing marathon, thought I’d throw in some (fairly) recently purchased mushrooms to make it all gourmet. I did the smell test and everything appeared ok, however, about 40 minutes later I suddenly felt a massive, skull splitting pain in the right side of my head. I’ve only had one naturally occurring migraine in my life (alcohol does not count), but by God I’ll be damned if I wasn’t well on my way to migraine #2.

For those of you who suffer regularly from these, I feel for you. For those of you who don’t, picture your worst day on a bike x 911 x 100. Yes, Gary, that would make it 91,100. Example: perhaps if you were, say, riding over a 15 mile cobbled climb at 18% in sleet with no arm warmers, no vest, and your saddle broke off; now add a small child banging a hammer on your head repeatedly while you’re riding and I think your approaching migraine territory.

I didn’t think the food had anything to do with it, but, I wound up throwing up. Either the pain from the head ache made me barf, or the rotting porta bella mushrooms with poisoned, hallucinogenic qualities caused me to imagine I had a migraine and then my body just threw it all up. I really don’t care at this point, I’m just happy to feel better. I think the Excedrin must have the equivalent of 36 cups of coffee because it’s 5am, and I’m not the slightest bit tired. (Correction - 2 Excedrin = 130 mg of caffeine, which is really only a little more than your average cup.)

Well, there you have it. Back to work tomorow though, like a real champ. And no Sylvia, you don’t digest all your food in 20 minutes…
